What Is Campaign Management?

Campaign Management is the ability to organize short links by campaign. Instead of managing hundreds of individual links scattered across your dashboard, you tag them with a campaign name — "Black Friday 2024", "Product Launch Q1", "Email Nurture Series" — and trimy automatically groups all links in that campaign and shows aggregate analytics across them.

This is essential for marketers running multi-channel initiatives. A single product launch might involve emails, social posts, paid ads, and influencer partnerships — each with their own short link tagged with the same campaign name. Campaign Management lets you view all those links together in one unified dashboard, seeing the total impact of your entire campaign without switching between individual link analytics.

Every campaign also gets an AI Campaign Health Score — a 0–100 rating with prioritized fixes for underperforming channels, included on every plan. No other link platform scores campaign health with AI.

Campaign Organization Features

  1. 1

Tag links with a campaign name

When creating short links, assign a campaign name (e.g., "Product Launch Q4" or "Email Nurture Series"). This is the label trimy uses to group all related links together.

  2. 2

    View campaign dashboard

Navigate to the Campaigns section in trimy's dashboard to see all your campaigns. Select a campaign to view aggregate analytics for all links tagged with that campaign value.

  3. 3

    Analyze performance

See total clicks, performance trends, geography, devices, referrers, and channel breakdown — all links in the campaign combined. Identify which channels and links performed best.

  4. 4

    Compare campaigns

Compare performance across multiple campaigns to see which initiatives drove the most engagement, identify successful patterns, and optimize future campaigns based on data.

Real-World Use Cases

Product Launch Campaign

A company launches a new product and runs links across 5 channels: email, Twitter, Instagram, paid Google Ads, and partner blog posts. They tag all links with the campaign name "Product Launch Q4" and add a channel label to each. The campaign dashboard shows 50k total clicks, broken down by channel and source — one unified view instead of switching between 20 individual links.

Multi-Week Email Nurture Series

A SaaS company sends a 4-week email sequence, each email with 3-4 different call-to-action links. They create an "Email Nurture" campaign, organized by week. The dashboard shows which week drove the most clicks, which email in the series had the highest engagement, and helps optimize future sequences based on real performance data.

Black Friday Campaign

An e-commerce retailer runs a month-long Black Friday push with different promotions each week. They tag all links under one "Black Friday 2024" campaign and use a week label to differentiate. The campaign dashboard shows aggregate clicks, trends over time, and channel breakdown — making it easy to analyze what worked and replicate it next year.

Cross-Functional Campaign

A B2B company's marketing, sales, and customer success teams all promote a webinar. They tag all links under one "Webinar 2024" campaign and give each team a distinct channel label. Campaign view shows: marketing drove 8k clicks, sales drove 3k (lower traffic but 40% conversion rate), customer success drove 2k (highest quality leads). Each team's contribution is clear and measurable.

Bulk URL Upload via CSV

Create hundreds of campaign links at once by uploading a CSV file. Each row becomes a short link with your campaign labels pre-applied — perfect for large product catalogues, migrating links from another platform, or spinning up an entire campaign in seconds.

What goes in your CSV

Each row becomes one short link. Include these columns — the last three are optional:

  • Destination URL — the full link you want to shorten
  • Traffic source — where visitors are coming from (e.g., Twitter, Newsletter)
  • Channel — the marketing channel (e.g., social, email, paid)
  • Campaign name — the campaign this link belongs to
  • Keyword (optional) — the search term or ad keyword
  • Creative variant (optional) — which version of the ad or message
  • Custom short code (optional) — your preferred alias instead of an auto-generated code

Upload & Process

Upload your CSV from Campaigns → Bulk Upload. trimy validates each row, creates short links with all your campaign labels applied, and returns a summary showing how many links were created and which rows had errors.

Validation & Safety

Every URL in the CSV is validated for safety (malware scanning, blacklist checks, URL format) before being created. Invalid rows are reported and skipped — the rest succeed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move links between campaigns?

Yes. You can change a link's campaign name anytime. Campaign analytics update automatically — the link is removed from the old campaign's totals and added to the new one.

Can I further organize campaigns by channel?

Yes. Add a traffic source (e.g., Twitter, Newsletter) and channel label (e.g., social, email) to each link within the campaign. The analytics dashboard breaks down performance by source and channel, so you can see exactly which ones drove the most engagement.

Can teams collaborate on campaigns?

Yes. If you're on a team, campaigns are shared. Any team member can create links in the campaign, see the campaign dashboard, and analyze performance. Perfect for cross-functional marketing initiatives.

How do I track time-bound campaigns?

The campaign analytics dashboard shows click trends over time, helping you see when your campaign performed best. You can filter the date range to match your campaign dates and analyze performance during specific time periods.

Can I export campaign analytics?

On Business plan, yes. You can export campaign aggregate data to CSV for use in spreadsheets, presentations, or further analysis in tools like Google Sheets or Tableau.

What happens to campaign data when I delete a link?

When you delete a link, it's removed from the campaign. Campaign analytics recalculate automatically — the total clicks and folder breakdowns update to exclude that link's data.
