What Is Team Collaboration?

Team Collaboration in trimy lets you create teams, invite members, and manage short links collectively under a shared workspace. Instead of each person maintaining their own isolated account, your team shares a pool of links organized into workspaces — with each person's role determining what they can create, edit, or delete.

This solves a real operational problem: when a campaign manager creates a link in their personal account and then leaves the company, that link becomes inaccessible. With team collaboration, all links are team-owned — they persist regardless of individual membership changes, and any authorized team member can manage them.

Role-Based Permissions

Every team member has a role that controls exactly what they can do. Grant the right level of access without exposing sensitive settings to everyone.

Team Collaboration Features

Shared Workspaces

Organize team links into named workspaces (e.g., "Paid Social", "Email Campaigns", "Product Launch"). Each workspace keeps related links grouped and easy to find.

Email Invitations

Invite team members by email with a single click. Invitations are valid for 7 days and can be revoked anytime. Invitees don't need an existing trimy account — they create one on acceptance.

Activity Logs

See a full audit trail of team actions: who created which link, who changed a destination, who invited or removed a member. Perfect for accountability and compliance reviews.

Team-Level Analytics

View aggregated click data across all links in the team. See total performance, top links, geographic breakdown, and campaign comparisons — all in a single team dashboard.

Shared Custom Domains

Set a default custom domain per team so all new links use it automatically. Every team member creates branded links without needing to configure domain settings individually.

Link Ownership

All links created inside a team belong to the team — not to the individual. When someone leaves, their links remain active and accessible to the rest of the team. No broken campaigns when staff changes.

Real-World Use Cases

Marketing Teams

A 10-person marketing team creates links for email newsletters, social posts, paid ads, and events — all under one team. Campaign managers see aggregate performance. Content creators create their own links. Leadership has read-only Viewer access for reporting. Everyone sees the same data.

Digital Agencies

An agency manages 15 client brands, each as a separate team. Junior account managers create and track links for their client. Senior managers have Admin access to edit and review. Clients get Viewer access to review analytics without touching settings. Clean separation with one subscription.

Enterprise Organizations

A multinational company has separate teams for Product, Marketing, and Customer Success. Each team manages its own links with its own workspace structure. Organization admins have visibility across all teams for compliance and audit purposes using the activity log.

Freelancers with Clients

A freelance social media manager runs campaigns for multiple clients. Each client gets their own team. The freelancer has Owner access to all teams; clients get Viewer access to see their own campaign links and analytics — nothing from other clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to team links when a member leaves?

Links created inside a team belong to the team, not the individual. When a member is removed or leaves, all their team links remain active and fully accessible to remaining team members. No links break, no analytics are lost.

Can I be in multiple teams at once?

Yes. A single trimy user can be a member of multiple teams simultaneously, with different roles in each. Your dashboard shows all teams you belong to, and you can switch context between them freely.

Can team members see each other's personal links?

No. Personal links (created outside of any team) are private to their creator. Team collaboration only applies to links created within a team workspace. Personal and team links are completely separate.

How do invitations work?

Team Admins and Owners send an invitation by entering the person's email. The invitee receives an email with an accept link valid for 7 days. Admins can revoke pending invitations at any time. There's no limit on pending invitations.

Who counts against the member limit — pending invites or active members?

Only active members count. Pending invitations that haven't been accepted don't consume a member slot. Once accepted, the new member counts against your plan's member limit.

What is the activity log used for?

The activity log records all meaningful team actions: link creation, link deletions, member additions/removals, role changes, and workspace updates. It's useful for auditing changes, reviewing campaign history, and meeting compliance requirements. Available on Professional (30 days) and Business (90 days).
